Man Dead in Motorcycle Accident on Mary Lane near Orangewood Drive
ESCONDIDO, CA (December 20, 2022) — A man died following a motorcycle crash on Mary Lane at about 2:16 p.m. on Saturday, December 17.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at the 2600 block of Mary Lane.
Reports said a 26-year-old man rode a black Honda CBR motorcycle northbound on Mary Lane. Then, the motorcyclist struck a white Nissan NV 1500 van pulling out of a private driveway onto Mary Lane, north of Orangewood Drive.
First responders arrived just after the crash. They then transported the motorcyclist to a nearby hospital. The motorcyclist later died and his name and city of residence were not immediately available.
There are no other injuries reported, CHP said.
Officers do not believe that alcohol or drugs contributed to the incident.
The incident snarled traffic around Mary Lane and Orangewood Drive for more than two hours.
Authorities continue to investigate why the 22-year-old Fallbrook man driving the Nissan crashed with the motorcyclist.
