Man Dead in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Roberts Lane in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 26, 2022) — A man died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Roberts Lane and Belmont Avenue on Wednesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal hit-and-run happened around 9:38 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver of an unknown pickup truck struck a man walking on the westbound side of Roberts Lane.
 
The driver fled the scene following the impact, leaving the victim with serious injuries.
 
Shortly after, paramedics reached the scene and brought the gravely injured victim to Kern Medical where he died from his injuries. Officers have not released his name pending notification of family members.
