BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 28, 2022) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 119 in Bakersfield early Saturday morning, June 25.
 
The fatal crash happened around 3:46 a.m. at Old River Road. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the man was either standing or walking in the area when a Honda struck him.
 
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office withheld the man’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
 
The driver of the vehicle did not stop after the crash, leaving the victim with major injuries.
 
First responders performed life-saving aid on the victim, who later died at the scene.
