BALBOA PARK, CA (March 18, 2024) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on 5 Freeway in Balboa Park Sunday morning on March 17.
 
The fatal crash happened around 5:20 a.m. near the transition road of Highway 163. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian was walking northbound on the freeway when a vehicle struck him.
 
The man suffered fatal injuries, but it was unclear if he died at the scene or at the hospital.
 
Meanwhile, the involved driver did not stop after the crash.
 
No further information was immediately available. This fatality remains under investigation.
