Pedestrian Dies after Struck by 2 Hit-and-Run Vehicles at Cesar Chavez and Cairo Streets

 
COACHELLA, CA (October 3, 2022) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash at Cesar Chavez Street and Cairo Street in Coachella on Friday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened around 10:24 p.m. on September 30. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the man was struck by two separate vehicles, just moments apart. Both suspect vehicles drove away from the scene and the drivers currently remain at large.
 
Responding paramedics found the man, about 50 years old, lying unresponsive in the roadway. They performed life-saving measures and took the man to a hospital.
 
Sadly, the man did not survive and was declared dead. Authorities withheld his name pending notification of his family members.
 
This fatal crash is still under investigation. Authorities urged anyone with information to call Sheriff’s Deputy Nevins at 760-863-8990.
