Head-On Crash on West Village Drive in El Cajon Leaves 1 Driver Dead and Another with Major Injuries

 
EL CAJON, CA (January 14, 2025) – A man was killed in a head-on accident at West Village Drive and Willow Glen Drive in El Cajon early Sunday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 12:12 a.m. on January 12. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was driving a 2004 Ford Focus northbound on Willow Glen Drive. For unknown reasons, he veered towards the left, crossed over the solid double-yellow lines and crashed head-on into a 2013 Subaru Outback.
 
As a result of the crash, the man driving the Ford suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Authorities only identified him as a 30-year-old San Diego resident.
 
The driver of the Subaru, a 25-year-old woman of Imperial Beach, suffered major injuries.
 
It is still unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
