Head-On Accident on Highway 92 in San Mateo County Leaves 1 Driver Dead

 
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA (April 11, 2022) – A man died in a head-on accident on Highway 92 in San Mateo County on Friday afternoon.
 
The accident happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. on April 8 just west of 280 Freeway near Crystal Springs Reservoir. According to the CHP, a red 2017 Honda Accord was traveling eastbound on Highway 92 when it veered into the westbound lane and crashed head-on into a gray 2002 BMW.
 
As a result, the driver of the BMW died at the scene.
 
The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office only described the victim as a someone is his 30s. They will release his identity once it has been confirmed and his next of kin is notified.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Honda, a woman in her 20s, suffered major injuries. Paramedics took her to Stanford Health Care for proper treatment.
 
The CHP said it was unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the deadly crash. Further investigation is underway.
