Three-Wheel Motorcycle Crashes on Serena Road in Lakeside Killing the Driver and Injuring 2-Year-Old Passenger

 
LAKESIDE, CA (July 13, 2023) – A 63-year-old man was killed in a three-wheeler accident on Serena Road in Lakeside Sunday evening on July 9.
 
The fatal accident happened around 7:30 p.m. just west of Serena Lane. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was driving a 1985 red Honda 250SX all-terrain cycle east on Serena Road with a 2-year-old passenger.
 
As the driver approached a right curve in the road, he lost control for unknown reasons. The three-wheeler then left the roadway, ejecting both the driver and the toddler.
 
Neither the driver nor the child was wearing a helmet, officials said.
 
The driver, a Lakeside resident, died at the scene. The toddler, also a Lakeside resident, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital.
 
At this time, the exact cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
