Man Suffered Injuries, Woman Arrested in San Diego DUI Accident on Balboa Avenue and Kearny Villa Road

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 10, 2022) — A man sustained injuries following a DUI crash on Balboa Avenue on Friday, October 7.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, they first received reports of the crash at the intersection of Balboa Avenue and Kearny Villa Road shortly before 1:00 a.m.
 
Police reports said a 23-year-old-female drove a white Toyota Rav4 south on Kearny Villa Road. At the same time, a 51-year-old man drove his Hyundai Elantra east on Balboa Avenue. Then the female driver moved into the intersection and crashed with the Hyundai.
 
The male driver sustained serious injuries. Meanwhile, the woman said she had wrist pain. Paramedics transported both to a hospital.
 
Police said alcohol contributed as a factor in the incident. Then they arrested the female driver on suspicion of DUI. After that, they booked her into the Las Colinas jail.
 
Authorities did not release the identity of either driver.
