Big Rig Driver Suffers Injuries after Street-Racing Crash on 15 Freeway in Hesperia

 
HESPERIA, CA (March 14, 2022) – A man was injured in a street-racing accident on 15 Freeway in Hesperia on Friday morning.
 
The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. on March 11 at the Joshua Street on-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver Infiniti G35 sedan and a possible blue Subaru were racing on the northbound freeway. Both were traveling over 100 mph when the Infiniti driver attempted to pass a slower-moving vehicle and lost control. The Infiniti then drove into the path of an empty red Athens waste/recycling collection big rig.
 
The impact caused the big rig to lose control. It went off the freeway, hit the ditch and landed upright onto Mariposa Road.
 
San Bernardino County Fire Department crews responded to the scene and found the male big rig driver with injuries from the crash. They took him to a local hospital for proper treatment.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Infinit was unharmed. The other street racer got away.
 
At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
