BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 13, 2023) – A man was injured in a pedestrian accident on Union Avenue in Bakersfield Wednesday afternoon on May 10.
 
The accident happened around 12:20 p.m. near East 9th Street. Witnesses told investigators the BPD patrol vehicle was traveling southbound and struck the pedestrian who was crossing the road from the center median outside of a crosswalk.
 
First responders rushed the man to a local hospital with moderate to major injuries.
