SACRAMENTO, CA (January 3, 2025) — A man was hit and injured by a Sacramento Regional Transit bus at 24th Street and J Street.
 
According to reports, the New Year’s Eve pedestrian accident happened around 7:00 p.m. in Midtown. For an unknown reason, a Sacramento Regional Transit bus struck a male pedestrian near the intersection.
 
Subsequently, Sacramento Police and paramedics responded, finding the conscious man with life-threatening injuries.
 
The victim was taken to a hospital for immediate care. Upon investigating, Sacramento Police said there were two passengers on board the bus, not including the driver. However, officers did not say if those occupants reported any injuries.
 
The police did not specify the leading cause of the crash, but they and SacRT are delving into this case.
