Driver Killed After Train Hits Vehicle near Chrisman Road in Tracy
TRACY, CA (April 22, 2024) — A man died after a train hit his car near Chrisman Road and Bates Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly train accident happened around 8:00 a.m. Friday. For an unknown reason, a 58-year-old Tracy man decided to drive through some downed crossing arms. Subsequently, an ACE commuter train heading westbound at speeds of 70 mph struck the passenger side of his vehicle.
Soon after, paramedics responded and found the man deceased at the scene. Fortunately, neither of the 68 passengers on board the severely damaged train reported any major injuries.
Officials did not release the victim’s name at this time. However, we will update this report along with the ultimate cause of the accident.
