Driver Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 62 in Desert Hot Springs

 
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (May 17, 2024) — A man died in a 2-car accident on Highway 62 near Indian Canyon Drive.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle crash happened around 2:25 a.m. Thursday. For unknown reasons, an eastbound Dodge driver crashed into a westbound Hyundai making a left turn onto North Indian Canyon Drive from the highway. Subsequently, the impact sent the Dodge traveling in a northeasterly direction before hitting a streetlight.
 
Minutes later, paramedics responded and confirmed one person deceased: the Dodge driver from Twentynine Palms. Officials did not release his name.
 
As for the man driving the Hyundai, he suffered minor injuries. Authorities did not specify the leading cause of this accident. However, they will look into the details further.
