Pedestrian Dies after Hit by Car on McLaughlin Avenue in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (March 7, 2022) – Mai Thi Nguyen was killed in a pedestrian accident in San Jose Saturday night.
 
The accident happened around 6:40 p.m. on March 5, at the intersection of McLaughlin Avenue and Idlewood Drive. According to the San Jose Police Department, Nguyen was walking in the area when a 2015 Nissan Rogue SUV heading southbound struck her.
 
As a result, Nguyen suffered major injuries. Responding paramedics transported her to a hospital, where she died Sunday.
 
Nguyen was a 75-year-old San Jose resident, according to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
 
Meanwhile, the driver remained on scene and cooperated with police.
