Lodi Man Dies after Struck by Several Cars on Highway 99 in Elk Grove

 
ELK GROVE, CA (March 24, 2021) – Lizandro Hernandez Botello was killed in a pedestrian accident Friday evening in Elk Grove.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 8:45 p.m., March 19, on Highway 99 near Sheldon Road.
 
23-year-old Lodi resident Botello attempted to cross the northbound lanes of traffic on Highway 99 when several cars driving up the highway struck him. He sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
It is unknown if the involved drivers have stayed at the scene after the crash.
 
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office said the death was deemed accidental, but further investigation is underway.
