Issac Urbeana Arrested after Fatal DUI Crash on Lake Road near Turlock Lake State Recreation Area

 
STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (January 4, 2024) – Authorities identified 23-year-old Leilani Romayor-Bettencourt and 28-year-old Danny Reyes as the passengers killed in a DUI Crash on Lake Road, early Monday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on January 1, at about 3:42 a.m. A westbound 2017 Toyota sedan reportedly failed to negotiate a right bend in the road. Then, the vehicle overturned off of Lake Road’s south edge near Turlock Lake State Recreation Area.
 
The impact of the crash ejected two back passengers, Romayor-Bettencourt and Reyes, from the vehicle.
 
Emergency crews pronounced Romayor-Bettencourt and Reyes dead at the scene. A GoFundMe page has been set by Romayor-Bettencourt’s family to cover funeral costs and to support her two children.
 
The front passenger, identified as 21-year-old Amber Sauls, sustained major injuries and remains hospitalized.
 
Officers arrested the driver, 23-year-old Isaac Urbeana for felony DUI and felony gross vehicular manslaughter.
 
CHP continues to investigate the fatal accident.
