Jackknifed Big Rig Causes Traffic Backup after Accident on Highway 180 in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (December 28, 2022) – A big rig accident caused a huge traffic backup on Highway 180, Tuesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on December 27. A westbound big rig crashed near the Fulton Street offramp due to unknown reasons.
 
Another big rig reportedly also became involved in a collision nearby.
 
Both big rigs jackknifed and blocked the lane, causing a major traffic backup. Responders immediately worked on clearing operations.
 
No injuries were reported.
 
Investigators believe that both big rigs were traveling a little too fast in the rain.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
