WILLITS, CA (September 19, 2022) — Authorities closed the southbound lanes after a car crash on Highway 1 near Reynolds Highway on Friday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle collision happened around 9:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, a utility trailer detached from a vehicle and rolled into a truck. This news was brought to reporters by the mother of one of the involved occupants.
 
As for the vehicle that lost its utility trailer, that driver left the scene and did not stop. Due to the accident, Mendocino County Sheriff’s deputies blocked both southbound lanes and diverted traffic at the northbound bypass.
