Kevin Matul-Muralles Detained in San Luis Obispo DUI Crash

 
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (September 8, 2021)Kevin Matul-Muralles faces charges in Sunday’s DUI accident on Foothill Boulevard near Tassajara Drive.
 
According to reports, the car accident occurred around 11:23 p.m. For DUI reasons, 24-year-old Matul-Muralles drove past a vehicle that was stopped at a red traffic light. While traveling at a high rate of speed, his vehicle clipped another car, drifted across all lanes of traffic and struck several more vehicles. Finally, his car struck a power pole causing it to break in half.
 
According to witnesses, the San Luis Obispo man tried to flee but nearby residents caught on to him.
 
Not long after, police officers responded and arrested him for DUI. Meanwhile, paramedics tended to his passenger who suffered minor injuries and PG&E reported a current outage for nearby residents.
