Juan Vega Involved in Fatal Bicycle Crash on 16th Street

 
MERCED, CA (February 3, 2021) – Juan Vega is now in police custody after a fatal bicycle crash on 16th Street on January 18.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at G Street around 7:30 PM.
 
Based on a report, a cyclist was on the road at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle struck the victim. Subsequently, the driver of the vehicle left the scene without rendering aid.
 
As a result, Merced Police said the victim died in the incident. Officials did not release the deceased’s name pending kin notification.
 
In addition, police also reported that the suspect vehicle and the driver were found with the public’s help. The vehicle appeared to have substantial damage consistent with the collision. In conclusion, officers arrested Juan Antonio Vega, 38.
 
It is unclear what led up to the car accident. At this time, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
