Joshua Weber Charged After Striking, Injuring 15-Year-Old Pedestrian on Highland Drive near Chestnut Avenue

 
CARLSBAD, CA (December 19, 2023) Joshua Weber faces charges after hitting, injuring and leaving a teen pedestrian on Highland Drive near Chestnut Avenue.
 
According to the Carlsbad Police Department, the hit-and-run happened around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. Under unclear circumstances, 42-year-old Joshua Paul Weber turned left to go eastbound on Chestnut Avenue from Highland Drive South when he struck a 15-year-old girl outside a marked crosswalk. Subsequently, the Winchester man reportedly moved her off the road and left the scene before officers arrived.
 
Shortly after, paramedics arrived and took the injured girl to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Following the accident, police were able to arrest and book Webber into San Diego County Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. However, the Carlsbad Police Department would like witnesses’ help with this crash.
