Joshua Hitto and 8-Year-Old Girl Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident on Green Sands Avenue [Atwater, CA]

Two-Vehicle Crash in Atwater Kills 2 Passengers and Injures Several Others

 
ATWATER, CA (August 31, 2023) – Joshua Hitto and an 8-year-old girl died in a two-vehicle accident in Atwater early Saturday morning on August 26.
 
The fatal accident happened around 12:10 a.m. at the intersection of Green Sands Avenue and North Buhach Road. According to the Atwater Police Department, a silver Toyota Corolla and a white Acura sedan collided for unknown reasons.
 
The 8-year-old girl and Hitto, a 26-year-old Stockton resident, were passengers in the Toyota. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Several other occupants inside the two vehicles were injured and were transported to area hospitals.
 
It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
 
Police are trying to determine if speed was a factor. They asked anyone with further information to contact the Atwater Police Department at 209-357-6384.
