Jose Rivaspineda Hurt in Deadly Head-On Collision on 5 Freeway near Davis Road

 
STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (July 27, 2023) — Jose Rivaspineda suffered minor injuries in a fatal head-on accident on the 5 Freeway near Davis Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-vehicle collision happened Tuesday. For an unknown reason, a 26-year-old Arizona man lost control of a southbound Subaru SUV. Subsequently, the Subaru entered the center median, overturned and traveled into the northbound lanes. There, an oncoming Peterbilt tractor-trailer rig, driven by Rivaspineda, plowed into the Subaru.
 
The unidentified Arizona man passed away in the accident. Officials have yet to inform the next of kin. Rivaspineda, of Los Banos, sought care at Los Banos Memorial Hospital for his minor injuries.
 
According to the CHP, alcohol and drugs did not factor into the collision. However, a deep dive into the events prior to the impact should confirm what led to the crash.
