Jose Campuzano Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Vehicle on Ramon Road in Palm Springs

 
PALM SPRINGS, CA (September 7, 2021) – Police identified Jose Campuzano as the pedestrian who died following a hit-and-run on Ramon Road on September 2.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Landau Boulevard around 8:07 PM.
 
Based on reports, Campuzano was on the roadway at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, an older model Dodge Ram crew cab truck struck him. Subsequently, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.
 
As a result, the pedestrian sustained severe injuries to his head and body. Paramedics transported him to the hospital, where he later died. Officials identified Jose Campuzano as a 43-year-old resident of Cathedral City.
 
Later on, the driver of the suspect vehicle turned himself into the police. The Cathedral City Police Department identified the suspect as a 57-year-old resident of Cathedral City.
