Jorge Juarez Dead, Another Hurt after Multi-Car Accident on Highway 4 near Willow Pass Road

 
CONCORD, CA (August 17, 2022) — A man identified as 18-year-old Jorge Sanchez Juarez, of Concord, died in a crash on Monday, August 15.
 
According to California Highway Patrol officers, they responded shortly after 12:40 a.m. to a report of a crash on eastbound Highway 4, east of Willow Pass Road. When they arrived at the area, they found several vehicles that blocked the roadway’s slow lane.
 
Witnesses said a yellow Chevrolet Camaro struck the side of a white Honda Accord while trying to pass it. The Accord’s driver stopped on the shoulder. Meanwhile, the Camaro kept going until a blue Chevrolet Suburban hit its rear.
 
The Camaro’s driver, Juarez, died at the scene. The Accord’s driver was unhurt, and the Suburban’s driver had minor injuries.
 
CHP officers closed all eastbound lanes shortly before 1:00 a.m. and diverted traffic onto Willow Pass. They reopened all lanes just after 3:50 a.m.
