Elderly Woman Dies after Crashing Several Vehicles in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (February 8, 20231)Jenny Zavatsky was killed in a high-speed crash in Long Beach Saturday afternoon on February 4.
 
The fatal crash happened around 2:30 p.m. at Spring Street and Palo Verde Avenue. According to the Long Beach Police Department, Zavatsky was driving a Lincoln Continental at a high rate of speed when she drove through a parking lot. She then struck four parked vehicles, two of which struck a 68-year-old man and a 10-year-old boy.
 
The Lincoln then struck a tree in the 2900 block of Palo Verde Avenue, where firefighters had to extricate Zavatsky from the car.
 
Paramedics rushed Zavatsky to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. She was 90 years old.
 
The 68-year-old man was taken to a hospital in serious condition and the 10-year-old boy suffered minor injuries. He was released to his parents.
