Bicyclist James McKane Dies after Crashing into Truck in Irvine

 
IRVINE, CA (September 8, 2022) – A man was killed in a bicycle accident on Alton Parkway in Irvine on Tuesday morning, August 23.
 
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department identified him as 69-year-old James Henry McKane of Lake Forest.
 
The fatal accident happened around 7:25 a.m. near Technology Drive. According to the Irvine Police Department, a truck was stopped at the side of the road while workers were performing landscaping duties when the bicyclist collided with the back of the truck.
 
McKane died at the scene, according to the police.
 
The driver of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
 
Neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the crash. However, an investigation is underway. Police urged anyone with information on the case to call detectives at 949-724-7024.
