Passenger James Dringenberg Dies, Daisy Jerez Arrested after Pursuit Crash in City of Industry
CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA (May 7, 2021) – James Dringenberg died in a police pursuit in the city of Industry late Wednesday afternoon, May 2.
The incident happened around 3:15 p.m. on Workman Mill Road at the 60 Freeway. According to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, police pursued a 2019 Nissan Sentra. According to police, the suspects were wanted for an armed robbery. However, the suspects drove the wrong way on Workman Mill Road when they collided head-on into a freightliner.
The passenger in the suspect’s vehicle died at the scene. He has since been identified as 27-year-old James Dringenberg.
The driver, Daisy Jerez, suffered major injuries. Police arrested Jerez.
The driver of the freightliner suffered minor injuries and officials treated the driver at the scene.
Police do not know if drugs or alcohol are a factor. However, the crash is under investigation.
