18-Year-Old Man Dies in Early Morning Hit-and-Run Rollover Crash in Downtown LA
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, CA (December 2, 2024) – Isaac Arellanes was killed in a hit-and-run rollover crash in downtown Los Angeles early Saturday morning on November 30.
The fatal crash happened around 12:41 a.m. on North Broadway at East Cesar Chavez Boulevard. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, two cars collided at the intersection, causing one of them to roll over.
The driver of the other car fled the scene.
Seven occupants were injured in the crash, two of them became trapped in the car.
The trapped patients were both rushed to a nearby hospital, where one of them succumbed to his injuries.
Family members identified Arellanes as the fatal victim. He was 18 years old and had just graduated from Homeboy Industries in June. He was going to school at Rio Hondo College for a career in welding.
Arellanes was also father to one daughter.
The conditions of the other patients were not immediately known.
At this time, the cause of the crash and factors involved are still under investigation.
