Big Rig Involved in Multi-Vehicle Collision on 5 Freeway near Grapevine

 
GRAPEVINE, CA (August 12, 2021) — A multi-vehicle collision on 5 Freeway near Grapevine caused minor injuries Friday afternoon.
 
According to the authorities, the incident happened at about 1:24 p.m. Four vehicles, including a big rig, collided in the area near Grapevine Road.
 
Preliminary findings indicated that the driver of the big rig initially lost control, and then crashed into three other vehicles. Subsequently, the big rig partially struck a guard rail, and then tipped on its side.
 
Officials said that the crash resulted in minor injuries. However, they did not elaborate as to the number of people injured. Also, the names of those involved were not available immediately following the crash.
 
Meanwhile, the crash snarled traffic on the 5 Freeway. Delays were experienced up into Gorman, based on reports. Caltrans said lanes reopened at around 5:40 p.m.
