Herman Martinez Involved in Pedestrian Accident on Newport Boulevard in Costa Mesa

 
COSTA MESA, CA (February 24, 2021) – Police arrested Herman Martinez following a DUI accident on Newport Boulevard on February 21.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at 19th Street around 2:00 AM.
 
Based on a report, Martinez was heading south on Newport at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, he ran a red light and hit a pedestrian at the intersection. Subsequently, he collided with another vehicle before his car rolled over.
 
As a result, the pedestrian and the driver of the second car suffered injuries. Police did not provide details about the victims’ conditions but confirmed that nobody died in the crash. Martinez was not hurt in the incident.
 
In conclusion, Costa Mesa police arrested Herman Martinez, a 22-year-old Maywood resident, on suspicion of DUI. At this point, the department is still investigating the case.
