Police Arrest Riverside Man after Crashing into Home in Desert Hot Springs Injuring 1 Resident

 
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (February 14, 2023) – Police arrested Gustavo Garcia Jr. after he crashed into a residence in Desert Hot Springs early Sunday morning.
 
The crash happened around 12:55 a.m. on February 12, in the 10900 block of Santa Cruz Road. According to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department, the 46-year-old suspect from Riverside was driving a pickup truck when he crashed into a home, causing significant damage to the structure.
 
An adult male inside the residence suffered serious injuries and was taken to a trauma center for treatment.

Meanwhile, Garcia fled the scene on foot after the crash.

Police located Garcia around 7:00 a.m. Monday in the 3400 block of Crowell Avenue. They arrested and booked him into a Riverside County Jail on suspicion of felony hit and run with serious injuries.

An investigation is underway.
