Deadly Fiery Accident on Bridge Street in Riverside County Involves Big Rig and Sedan
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA (May 26, 2021) – One person died in a fiery accident at Bridge Street and Gilman Springs Road Wednesday afternoon.
26-year-old Glori Reece of Hemet was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Bureau.
The accident happened around 2:55 p.m. on May 5, just south of Alessandro Boulevard near Mystic Lake. CHP officials said a big rig and a Toyota Avalon collided for unknown reasons. After that, the Toyota crashed into nearby concrete pipes.
Deputies and good Samaritans pulled Reece from the fiery wreckage. Despite life-saving efforts, she died at the scene.
The trucker suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to a hospital, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The impact caused the Toyota to burst into flames, which spread to nearby vegetation and charred roughly 40 acres. The fire erupted immediately after the collision, expanding to roadside vegetation. After that, it extended into a field, pushed by light to moderate winds.
CHP officers shut down Gilman Springs Road between Alessandro Boulevard, east of Moreno Valley, and Bridge to the south, for public safety.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Glori Reece.
