50-Year-Old Man Dies after Hit by Train at Baker and Sumner Streets

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 22, 2021)Frank Sanchez Jr. was killed after being struck by a train in Bakersfield late Wednesday afternoon.
 
The fatal crash happened around 5:47 p.m. on September 15, at the intersection of Baker Street and Sumner Street. According to the California Highway, Sanchez was either standing or walking in the area when a train struck him.
 
Responding paramedics rushed him to Kern Medical Center, where he died at 1:04 a.m. Thursday. Sanchez was a 50-year-old Bakersfield resident, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
 
An autopsy will be completed to determine the cause and manner of death. An investigation is ongoing.
