Crash Involving Garbage Truck on Grant Line Road in Sacramento County Sparks Fire

 
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA (August 31, 2023) – Four people were injured in a three-vehicle accident at Grant Line Road and Jackson Road in Sacramento County on Monday afternoon.
 
According to Sacramento Metro Fire, the crash happened on August 28 involving a garbage truck that sparked a fire. The fire spread to nearby grass.
 
All three vehicles caught fire and high voltage power lines were knocked down.
 
Paramedics transported three people to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. One person was treated and released at the scene.
 
Crews closed the Jackson Highway while they knocked down the vegetation fire.
 
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol and Rancho Cordova police also responded.
 
It is unknown what led up to the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
