Five Injured in Traffic Accident on 5 Freeway at South Ditman Avenue [East Los Angeles, CA]

Vehicle Crashes into Home on 5 Freeway in East LA, Sending 5 People to Hospital

 
EAST LOS ANGELES, CA (October 31, 2022) – Five people were injured in a traffic accident on 5 Freeway in East Los Angeles early Sunday morning, October 30.
 
The accident happened around 2:15 a.m. near the freeway off-ramp at South Ditman Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle flew off the freeway and crashed into a home.
 
Video from the scene showed the vehicle suspended in the air and embedded into the side of the home.
 
A total of five people were injured in the crash and all were taken to the hospital. The conditions of those patients were unknown at this time.
 
It is also unclear if all five were occupants of the vehicle or if anyone inside the home were hurt when the crash occurred.
 
At this time, the CHP is still investigating whether speed or intoxication played a role in the crash.
