LOS FELIZ, CA (May 20, 2022) – A pedestrian was found dead on 5 Freeway following an accident on Wednesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on May 18, at about 6:15 a.m. Emergency crews reportedly found the victim dead near the center divider of the freeway, just north of Los Feliz Boulevard.
 
Investigators believe that the victim was hit by one or more vehicles on southbound 5 Freeway. However, none of the drivers involved remained at the scene.
 
Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Responding officers later closed two southbound lanes to make way for an investigation.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
