Esteban Jaramillo Dies in Wrong-Way DUI Crash on 10 Freeway in Los Angeles

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 23, 2023) — Esteban Jaramillo died in a wrong-way DUI accident on the 10 Freeway in Los Angeles.
 
According to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, the deadly wrong-way accident happened early Thursday. For DUI-related reasons, Brandon Bencomo drove his Kia westbound on the eastbound side of the 10 Freeway.
 
Subsequently, his Kia crashed into an eastbound Honda sedan, driven by Esteban Jaramillo.
 
Shortly after, paramedics responded to the scene and determined Jaramillo died from his injuries.
 
The Kia driver, Bencomo, and is 22-year-old female passenger suffered minor to moderate injuries while a 5-year-old girl in his car suffered minor injuries. Paramedics took all three patients to a hospital.
 
Following an investigation, police arrested Bencomo on suspicion of DUI and murder.
 
Due to the severity of the collision, police closed most of the eastbound side during the Thursday morning commute before reopening the lanes around 9:00 a.m.
