Eric West Killed, Clifton Hiler, Anthony West Hospitalized in Motorhome Accident on Highway 50 near Bass Lake Road

 
EL DORADO HILLS, CA (October 13, 2023) — Eric West died in a motorhome crash on Highway 50 near Bass Lake Road Monday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-vehicle crash happened around 5:37 p.m. For an unknown reason, a 1999 Ford Expedition, driven by 55-year-old Eric West, crashed into a 1990 Mallard Sprinter motorhome. Upon impact, both vehicles rolled over, and the collision resulted in a grass fire that ascended a hillside.
 
Moments later, firefighters took care of the blaze, and paramedics tended to West, who passed away.
 
In addition, they also located 54-year-old Clifton Hiler — the driver of the motorhome–and 30-year-old Anthony West — a Ford passenger. Due to their injuries, paramedics took them to UC Davis Medical Center for treatment.
 
At this time, authorities have not confirmed if impairment played a factor. However, if anyone has seen this accident, please call the CHP.
