School Crossing Guard Eduardo Villalpando Hospitalized after Being Hit by Car in Lakewood

 
LAKEWOOD, CA (December 11, 2023) – A school crossing guard, identified as 38-year-old Eduardo Villalpando, was hit by a car on Centralia Street, Friday.
 
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened on December 1. A speeding Dodge Challenger reportedly hit a Honda Pilot SUV that was turning left at the intersection. Then, the Challenger jumped a curb and hit Villalpando near Pioneer Street.
 
Villalpando had just walked a group of children across the street prior to the incident.

 
The impact of the collision completely severed Villalpando left leg and seriously injured his right leg. He remains in the hospital for a lengthy recovery.

As per reports, both drivers are cooperating with the investigation. No arrests have been made.
 
The sheriff’s department continues to investigate the accident.
