Coroner Identifies Man Killed in Scooter Accident in Walnut

 
WALNUT, CA (July 13, 2021) – Edmund Saldivar was killed in a scooter accident Sunday afternoon in Walnut.
 
The accident happened around 4:35 p.m. on July 11, in the area of Amar Road and Country Hollow Drive. According to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau, the 68-year-old man was riding a medical mobility scooter when a vehicle struck him.
 
The driver of the vehicle told deputies he realized he had hit something, pulled over and discovered the man’s body and scooter. He said the sun may have gotten in his eyes.
 
Saldivar died at the scene. He has no place of residence, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office report.
 
At this time, the accident remains under investigation.
