BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 6, 2021) – A DUI driver was hurt after a pursuit ended in a crash on Potomac Avenue on April 1.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Mount Vernon Avenue around 6:17 PM.

Based on a report, the commotion started when deputies tried to pull over a car on Highway 178 for a vehicle code violation. The driver did not stop and led officers for a 4-minute pursuit. In the end, the driver ran a stop sign and crashed into another car and a pole.

As a result, the female driver of the suspect car suffered moderate injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt.

Ultimately, officials charged the woman for leading deputies on a pursuit, possession of a stolen vehicle, and driving under the influence. At this point, an investigation into this crash on Potomac Avenue is still ongoing.
