Officer, Driver Hospitalized in 2-Vehicle Crash at Mission Avenue in Oceanside

 
OCEANSIDE, CA (August 14, 2024) — A driver and an officer suffered minor to moderate injuries in a 2-car accident at Mission Avenue and Roymar Road.
 
According to the Oceanside Police Department, the two-car crash happened when an officer was responding to an earlier crash. Around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, a 60-year-old driver of a Toyota Corolla ran a red light at the intersection. Subsequently, the Toyota struck the Oceanside police officer’s vehicle, which was making a legal turn on a green arrow.
 
Soon after, paramedics transported the Corolla driver to a hospital with moderate injuries while the officer was taken in for minor injuries.
