Driver Dead, Passenger Hospitalized after Car Crash with Pole on Audrey Avenue in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (September 13, 2022) — A driver died and a passenger was injured in a car accident with a telephone pole on Audrey Avenue at Jackson Street.
 
According to the Riverside Police Department, the fatal single-car crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday. For unknown reasons, a 19-year-old woman operating a 2000 Honda Accord southbound on Jackson Street reportedly lost control of the vehicle at a high rate of speed.
 
Subsequently, the car careered off the road and crashed into a telephone pole at the intersection with Audrey Avenue.
 
Within minutes, emergency personnel located the Riverside woman at the scene. However, despite receiving care at Riverside Community Hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.
 
Her male passenger from Riverside survived the crash with serious injuries.
