One Fatally Injured after Head-On Crash on Highway 4 near Balfour Road

 
BRENTWOOD, CA (April 8, 2022) — A driver died following a head-on crash of a car and big rig on Highway 4 on Thursday, April 4.
 
According to California Highway Patrol officials, the incident occurred at around 5:54 a.m. on Highway 4 east of Balfour Road.
 
The driver of a silver Toyota Corolla moved east on Highway 4. Then the Toyota crossed into the westbound lane and crashed head-on into the semi-trailer.
 
The person in the Toyota succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene. The big rig driver was not hurt.
 
CHP diverted eastbound traffic off at Balfour Road and westbound traffic off at Marsh Creek Road. The CHP also closed the highway between those exits and issued a Sig Alert for severe traffic. They lifted the alert at around 10:27 a.m.
