Driver Hurt in Two-Car Crash on 8 Freeway

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (December 16, 2021) — A driver was injured in a two-car accident on the 8 Freeway near the 805 Freeway on Monday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-car accident occurred around 10:42 p.m. For unknown reasons, the two cars crashed on the eastbound side of the freeway, sending one of the vehicles down an embankment and catching on fire.
 
Following the accident, the driver of the car that caught on fire escaped the wreckage and blaze with only minor injuries.
 
Soon after, firefighters reached the scene and extinguished the fire before it spread to nearby vegetation.
