Man Dead after Car Accident on Highway 1 near Highway 280 in Daly City

 
DALY CITY, CA (July 12, 2022) – A man was hit and killed following a car accident on Highway 1 on Monday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on July 11 at about 5:00 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a silver Nissan sedan crashed into a wall in the northbound lanes.
 
Then, the driver exited his vehicle and was hit by a gray SUV near Highway 280. As per reports, a third vehicle also hit the sedan and the SUV.
 
Emergency crews rushed the victim to a hospital, where he later died. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, described as a man in his 60s, pending notification of next of kin.
 
CHP believes that the heavy fog in the area caused the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
