Woman Dies after Struck by Vehicle in Santa Barbara While Attempting to Cross Over Highway 101

 
SANTA BARBARA, CA (April 6, 2022)Debra Reynoso was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 101 in Santa Barbara early Tuesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 12:05 a.m. on April 5 near Castillo Street. According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, Reynoso was attempting to walk across the highway lanes when a 2001 Buick Le Sabre struck her.
 
Reynoso suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was a 57-year-old Santa Barbara resident.
 
The driver of the Buick was unhurt, stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
Alcohol and drugs were not considered as factors in the crash, which remains under investigation. Anyone with further information regarding this fatality may contact the CHP at 805-967-1234.
