QUINCY, CA (December 1, 2022)Debra Dunn died in a 2-car accident on Highway 70 near Camp Layman Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle accident happened Tuesday.

Around 1:56 a.m., Guadalupe Ventura Perez encountered a family of deer on Highway 70 east of Camp Layman Road. Traveling at about 55 miles per hour, Perez slowed his 2019 Nissan Armada before making a complete stop before the deer. However, a westbound 2005 Nissan Sentra traveling 55 miles per hour behind the Nissan Armada did not stop in time and struck the rear of it.

As a result of the crash, a Nissan Sentra passenger, identified as 63-year-old Debra Lee Dunn of Portola, suffered fatal injuries. Perez and Charles Dunn — the Nissan Sentra driver — reported no injuries in the crash. It’s unclear where the liabilities fall. Although, we will update this report with more information should we receive any.
